Always the fear, but never the reality
Replaceable
Ancillary
Nonessential
Irrelevant
But now, this flipped upside down bizarro world
Everything is the same, and yet...
empty
vacant
barren
depleted
So unnatural, lacking
community
kinship
intimacy
Untethered from one another, left without a counterbalance
I can see the invisibility surrounding us
It is, truly, a fight for survival...to see each other. To be seen.
Teacher, mother, partner...writer?? Time to put it out there, I suppose. I started this on March 1, 2019 as a part of a challenge to write, everyday. March is over and yet I am still writing. Maybe not every day, but still writing.

A beautiful poem that captures the fears of all of us right now. Stay well.
I feel this, Amy. You know that this may sound strange (or maybe not after reading this post), but when I’m out on a run and someone says hello or waves to me (and these days everybody does), I feel connected. We need that feeling. That’s what I miss the most. I wonder what it will be like when we heal as a nation – I’m hoping that we can rekindle the community that we once had.
